DESCRIPTION: 1 - 10cm in length. What at first glance seems like a million pinheads is in fact another clustercup fungus that can be quite extensive on the chosen host. Leaves have an orangish tinge from above and if you are lucky you may find the numerous orangey cups below. The main ID feature is the white fringed upper edge to each cup which seperates this from similar species. SPORES: Yellowish, sub-globular. HABITAT: On Hairy Willowherb leaves especially near water. SEASON: Common. May to August. |
